Roadster sales slipped drastically this year as the vehicle’s door-less and topless safety was questioned.

 

 

1967 Ford Bronco –
Minor Improvements Only

A a few additions and improvements were made. Among them were variable-speed windshield wipers, padded sun visors, dual master cylinder, self-adjusting brakes, and backup lights.

General Year Information – 1967 Ford Bronco

For the most part, the Bronco was unchanged from 1966.  “Ford” was printed on the center bar of the grille. “Bronco” in script appeared at the rear of the front fenders near the door opening. Parking lights were at each end of the bar. The rectangular taillights were mounted vertically on the rear of the vehicle. Ford was printed on the far-right center of the tailgate. The license plate bracket was on the opposite end. Among standard features were: a three-speed fully synchronized transmission, Mono-Beam front suspension, through-drive two-speed transfer case, 11 x 2 inch front brakes, and a folding windshield.

A few changes were made. Among them were the addition of variable-speed windshield wipers, padded sun visors, a dual master brake cylinder, self-adjusting brakes, and backup lights.

Historical Notes

An almost 10 thousand unit drop in sales was recorded – only 14,230. There were safety concerns on the open doors on the Roadster and its lack of occupant protection this was the key area in sales loss.

Model U-130 – The roadster was the base model of this new four-wheel drive vehicle, and it looked like it. It didn’t have a roof or doors. Among standard features were: a three-speed fully synchronized transmission, Mono-Beam front suspension, through-drive two-speed transfer case, 11 x 2 inch front brakes, and a folding windshield.

Model U-140 – Last year’s Sports Utility was now called a “Pickup”. Thiss model looked like a mini-pickup truck. It had an all-steel, bolted-on, removable roof over the front seat. The side doors had roll-up windows. The compact rear cargo area could hold up to 32.1 cubic feet. Among standard features were: a three-speed fully synchronized transmission, Mono-Beam front suspension, through-drive two-speed transfer case, 11 x 2 inch front brakes, and a folding windshield.

Model U-150  – This was the most luxurious Bronco. It had a full-length roof and large quarter windows and was equipped as the Bronco Sport. Among standard features were: a three-speed fully synchronized transmission, Mono-Beam front suspension, through-drive two-speed transfer case, 11 x 2 inch front brakes, and a folding windshield.

Sport Bronco Wagon and Pickup features. (Available ONLY in the Pickup and Wagon). In addition to or in place of standard features, these include:

Inline Six. Overhead valves. Cast iron block.  Displacement: 170 cubic inches. Bore and stroke: 3.50 x 2.94 inches. Compression ratio: 9.2:1. Horsepower: 105 @ 4400 RPM. Torque: 158 @ 2400 RPM. Carburetion: Ford (Autolite) two-barrel (Manual Transmission) Model C7DF-9510-G, (Automatic Transmission) C7DF-9510-N.
