Very minor trim changes occurred for the second year of the styling cycle. A new anodized aluminum grille had a distinct horizontal center bar motif, with a Chevy II, Nova or Nova SS nameplate on the driver’s side. 

Chevrolet introduced an extensive sharp-edged restyle of the Chevy II. Significant was the addition of the 350 HP 327 CID V-8 in place of the 300 HP version.

The Chevy II for 1965 was mildly restyled with a new grille, new rear cove treatment and revised bright trim. The big news was the availability of the 327 CID V-8 in 250 and 300 HP.

The Chevrolet Chevy II was still a popular choice among compact car buyers, but the arrival of the new Chevrolet mid-size Chevelle did dent sales.
